Hashtags...Really DA? [short rant]/ College again!

Ok, so I get on DA and check my news feed from the site updates section and discover that all of the keywords on the entire site have now been converted into these horrible fucking hashtags that seem to be invading just about every single social-media site.  I really don't understand what in the world the incentive was to take a feature of the site that worked fine EXACTLY AS IT WAS and make it WORSE.  Many of the tags on my work were misinterpreted by the system, and now I will have to go back and fix every one of the failed translations.  Not to mention the shortlist that the keyword box brings up underneath it when you begin typing keywords into it now no longer exists, and I used that for almost everything I uploaded as a way of quickly filling in keywords I typically use.  Thanks so much for removing that...come on, this is so stupid.  There is way more potential contained in the keyword feature if you wanted to make a modification to it than this.

What gets to me is just how uncaring the staff seems to be of the people who have already found a home on the site.  I feel that I do not have a voice.  I posted a comment on the update announcement suggesting several ways you could improve on the keywords feature, that you could even still rename it (But FFS not change it to a hashtag!) and nobody even seem to care at all.  They just go right ahead and make the change without really listening to the dozens of people who agree this is not necessary, nor is it making the site any more productive.  I have thought this many times before when the site it updated in some aspect, that it could have been SO much fucking better than what they did with the change.  This was part of the reason why I left the site for so long - I got sick of the site being changed for what I saw as making it worse, and every time - EVERY TIME - most of the people on the site who have been here for a few years dared to be the squeaky wheel and say "NO the XYZ isn't better! This is the most pointless, confusing, ineffective change you could possibly do with the XYZ feature!"  I get sick of feeling like my opinion about the site as it used to be is totally worthless.  Seriously, is there anyone else who agrees that deviantart has made changes that made the site worse for quite a few people?

Well, I guess I might as well mention as long as I'm writing a journal that there have been a TON of storms around here and that has kept me VERY happy during my first week of classes back at ISU. (I forgot to metion that yes, I'm back in college again - hence the recent drop in activity)  I'm also very happy to say that I am becoming very good friends with someone who just came to ISU who I was close friends with in elementary school!  I am also still single and looking (no surprise there...) but I was checking out this Iowa Furries thing to see if there are any furries in my local area I could potentially hang out with and was surprised to find at least 2 or 3 otheres here in Ames besides me!   That would be awesome to make friends with some furries IRL as I feel it would help me become more connected to the furry community, just as going to my first convention did. 

Also I have a NEW PLANNED DRAWING LIST which I don't currently have on my page as that vanished along with my premium account status...but maybe I'll put it somewhere else on my page somehow.  What I plan to do is try to draw a little more variety - switching into a slightly new way of drawing anything sonic, and continuing to draw in my new furry style, and possible start drawing the types of things I used to draw when I was younger - such as big landscapes full of billowing clouds and storms in the background.  These will be pretty slow to come along though - I'm doing a very important research project for my senior year in meteorology that I am doing on lightning in relation to severe storm development.  This and the rest of my classwork will truly eat up quite a lot of time - I probably won't be drawing for much more than an hour a day at most.  But I will try to continue drawing this time instead of essentially abandoning drawing altogether like I did for awhile.
